To use the Underground Training Center simply login with your email
address and password.
Finding, Watching and Learning Tricks
To find a trick login and click on any of the magic categories that you are
interested in then browse through and find the one you want to learn. You
can watch the performance in small or large format by clicking the watch
link. You can learn the trick by clicking the learn link.
Practice Makes Perfect
I know that you have heard that old saying a thousand times but it's true.
It's even more true when it comes to magic because you don't want
anyone to catch you.
Here are the three main strategies that I use when I practice new tricks.
Practice into a mirror.
This really helps you see yourself from the
spectators point of view.
Practice into a corner.
This may sound stupid but if you only practice
into a mirror you will start relying on that image of yourself and may find
it hard to do tricks without watching yourself.
Practice with some NICE friends and family.
Notice that I said nice. When you are first starting out it is a lot more likely
that you will get caught so you don't want to practice with someone that is
going to give you a hard time.
Keep learning new magic

Learning magic is one of the coolest things I have every done and I have
so much fun doing it for people and getting massive reactions. I don't
think that there is any better feeling than blowing someone's mind and
having them beg you for the secret.
Make sure that you never tell them the secret to the trick either! If you
do then you lose your power and they aren't impressed anymore.
In fact when I first started learning magic I was a bit disapointed.
You may be experiencing that disapointment too. All of the magic that
used to seem so amazing may start to seem less impressive now that
you know how to do it and the secret is usually quite simple.
Don't worry about that though. Trust me that will go away and
will be replaced with the excitment of entertaining people.
If you're anything like me, now that you have gotten a taste of the
secrets of magic then you probably want more and more. When I started
learning I bought every book and DVD I could find.

1. It's very very hard to learn from books
It would take me like a week to learn 1 trick from a book and I wanted to
learn fast.
2. Learning magic is expensive.
Once I ditched the books and started buying DVDs I could learn tricks very
quickly but each DVD only had one or two tricks and they cost me $30.

Misdirection
Misdirection just might be the magician's best friend. Eveyone knows how
it works. You get someone to focus on one thing and while their attention
is on it you do something very special and the magic happens.
Are you using misdirection?
Here are a few tips for using it properly:
1. Eye Contact - The spectator will usually look where you look. So if you're
doing something sneaky that you don't want them to see then don't look in
that direction.
2. Movement - There is an old saying in magic that goes something like this
"A large movement covers a small movement". So when your doing a small
move that you don't want anyone to see then you can easily cover it with a
bigger movement. Just make sure it is a natural one. You wouldn't want
them to suspect anything.
3. Make them Your Friend - This means be interesting. If they like you and
are interested in you then they won't be trying to "catch" you but instead
allow you to entertain them.
I use these strategies everytime I perform and you should too.
